COME TO Me. I will give you rest

Theme:  God’s rest

My personal prayer for today’s message: Father God, help me to remove the clutter from my life and my mind and learn to rest in you.

How does this message apply to me? I need to learn the importance of resting in God and not worrying about the things of this world.

Applicable Scriptures

“There remains, then, a Sabbath rest for the people of God.  For whoever enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His”.  (Hebrews 4:9-10.)

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

“On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.’” (John 7:37)

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”  (Isaiah 26:3)

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)

The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” (Exodus 33:14

“Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”  (Psalm 37:7)

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4

What has God spoken to you through this message?  I need to be diligent to seek after God always as He is always seeking me.  He wants to provide His rest for me.

How can you apply this message to your life?  I need to trust God in all things and rest in Him.

How can you use this message to show God’s unconditional love to others?  To help bring others closer to God by telling of his peace and provision.

What have you learned through this message and scriptures?  That God has provided ways for me to rest physically and mentally.  I need to lean on Him and trust Him always and with everything.
